A shop on one of York’s top shopping streets is to close on Sunday.
Sugarize on Coney Street has a sign in the window saying: “This store closes on Sunday 10 September”.
It has launched a half price sale, with 50% off all marked prices.
Sugarize opened in June. It is a ‘digital sweetshop’, a brand new concept dreamed up by Frank Dillon.
Frank, who lives in York, has years in the sweet business and is one of the co-founders of the highly successful business Candy Hero, the Bradford based importer, distributor and retailer of American and other confectionery.
When it opened at 12A Coney Street, previously home to the Jessops camera shop, he told YorkMix: “The concept is to customise and build products in a fun way on screens,” said Frank. “You can build your pick and mix, checkout, and then it gets made for you.
“Whether you’re an adult or a child – you can remember the fun of pick and mixing.
“It’s totally unique.”
