Shocked York resident finds masked burglar inside their home
A York resident discovered a masked burglar inside their home this weekend.
The thief, wearing a face mask, had gained entry to the property on Nunnery Lane through the front door between 7.20-7.35am on Saturday (9 October).
After he was disturbed by the resident, he fled on a black bicycle with a ‘battered’ blue seat.
The man is described as
- Eastern European in appearance
- between 25-30 years old
- around 5’ 7” tall
- with dark brown eyes
- and of a skinny build.
He also appeared quite unwell.
He was wearing a black beanie hat, black cotton face mask, a knee length black raincoat with the hood up and a small motif on the left arm of the coat.
He was also wearing black tracksuit trousers, black and silver trainers and faded white cotton gloves.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
