Shed Seven announce a surprise charity gig in York – and you could be their support band
Chart-busting rock stars Shed Seven have announced a one-off charity gig in York – and they’re auctioning off the support slot.
The city’s indie legends will play Fibbers on Thursday, July 7. Tickets for the show go on sale this Monday (April 4) at 10am.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to local homeless charities York Arc Light and Sash.
To raise even more funds, the Sheds are to auction off the support slot on eBay – so your band could be supporting them. The support slot auction will start on Friday, April 8 and last for 10 days.
Fibbers is backing the fundraising night to the hilt, donating 100% of bar profits as well as all ticket revenue to the good causes.

It will be the first time Shed Seven have hosted a charity gig since the one to help save Bootham Crescent at York Barbican back in the early 2000s.
Drummer Alan Leach said:
This is great because it can be quite frustrating when you give your time for free at a charity event only to find that the bar made a killing and none of it goes to the charity.
Selling the support slot on eBay should mean even more proceeds for the cause and will definitely make the night interesting one way or another.
