Thieves got away with a huge haul of cash and valuables in York – and now police are appealing to people for help in tracing the stolen items.
Several thousand dollars, mainly in $100 dollar bills, were taken during the York burglary. Police say the currency may now be invalid due to the currency being reissued recently.
A number of distinctive pieces of jewellery were also taken. Some were manufactured abroad so will not have a UK hallmark.
A variety of vintage wines were stolen too, along with some foreign whiskeys that would not be available in UK stores.
A man has been charged with burglary in connection with the investigation.
Detectives are appealing to jewellers, pubs, collectors and members of the public to contact them if they have been offered any of the following goods for sale or know where they are now.
The suspect used the householder’s black rubbish bin to take the items away and officers are also appealing to anyone who might have seen the discarded bin to get in touch.
