Seven people were handed into the care of the ambulance service after a multiple car crash in York today (Thursday).
It happened on the westbound carriageway of the A64 between the Fulford interchange and Bishopthorpe Road.
Emergency services were called at 8.28am.
Fire crews from York, Acomb and Huntington responded to the incident, reported earlier by YorkMix.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the incident involving four vehicles.
“No persons were trapped in the vehicles. Seven people were assessed for injuries by crews before being handed over into the care of ambulance crews.
“Crews made the vehicles and scene safe before leaving the incident in the hands of the police and recovery services.”
Long queues built up in the area after the crash. The road was reopened by 9.52am.
