A North Yorkshire road has reopened after serious crash overnight.
The two-vehicle collision happened on Thornton Road, Pickering. Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the scene at 10.17pm last night.
At 11.38pm, North Yorkshire Police posted this message: “We are attending a serious collision on the A170 between Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale.
“The road is closed in both directions, and will remain closed for some time.
“Please avoid the area while the emergency services work at the scene.”
Fire crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside went to the incident.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews assisted in administering first aid.
“Crews made the vehicles safe and left the incident in the hands of the police.”
The road was still closed on A170 Hungate both ways from Whitby Gate to A169 Kirkham Lane on Wednesday morning.
But is has now reopened.
