A North Yorkshire road closed by a crash has now reopened.
The A169 was closed near Saltersgate Bank and the Hole of Horcum due to a serious road traffic collision this afternoon.
Officers said at 4.49pm: “The road is likely to remain closed for some time. Please avoid the area and divert via the A171 and A170.”
Fire crews from Pickering and Malton responded to the incident, when they said involved a single car.
Meanwhile, the RAC reported that the A169 was closed both ways due to the crash between Old Wife’s Way and David Lane, leading to a build-up of heavy traffic.
Then, at 5.55pm, the North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau tweeted: “The road has now reopened. Thank you for your patience whilst the crews worked at the scene.”
An earlier collision on the A169 Northbound at Crossdale Road has also been cleared up.
We don’t have any details yet about any casualties.
