A serious crash closed a Ryedale road for hours.
The A170 between Thornton-le-Dale and Brompton-by-Sawdon closed due to a serious collision near Snainton on Sunday (3 December).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The collision was reported at around 2.30pm and all three emergency services are at the scene.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
“The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.”
The AA says: “Road blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on A170 both ways after Sandsprunt Lane.”
At 11.55pm police issued this update: “The A170 between Thornton-le-Dale and Brompton-by- Sawdon has reopened following the collision near Snainton on Sunday afternoon.
“Thank you for your patience while the emergency services dealt with the collision.”
