The A1(M) in North Yorkshire has fully reopened after a serious crash today (Thursday).
North Yorkshire Police first reported that they were at a collision on the southbound carriageway at 12.22pm.
It was closed between the J49 Ripon Road (Thirsk / Dishforth) to J48 the A6055 (Boroughbridge) for two and a half hours.
But at 2.52pm, National Highways Yorkshire said that one lane had reopened, with two still closed.
And by 4.50pm, the entire carriageway was back open. By that time, there were five miles of tailbacks “but this should now start to ease”, National Highways said.
