Officers are appealing for information following the theft of a handbag that contained money and sentimental jewellery in York.
The incident happened in the city centre, between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday 5 April.
The victim, a woman in her 80s who was visiting York, was using a walker for support.
Her handbag, which was placed inside of the walker, contained a sum of money along with the jewellery items.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the jewellery or been offered it for sale.”
