A second student has tested positive at a large York secondary school.
Huntington School sent a letter to parents today (Monday) informing them that another pupil has tested positive.
Last week, a sixth form student was confirmed as having Covid-19 and some classmates within his Year 13 bubble were asked to self-isolate.
The latest student with a positive test is from a different year group bubble within the school, which remains open.
The letter says: “The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.
“The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.”
Last week the head teacher John Tomsett told us the school’s “highly effective trace and isolate system will ensure that all our students and staff remain safe”.
