Thieves have targeted the second York cash machine in two days.
This time they broke into an ATM and stole money. Police were called to the machine, outside a convenience shop on Vyner Street off Haxby Road at 4.20am.
Detectives believe the thieves forced their way into the machine. It is not yet known how much money was taken.
Crime scene investigators attended and extensive enquiries are currently taking place to catch the culprits.
The break-in happened a day after burglars smashed their way into a shop in Huntington and tried to break open a cash machine.
North Yorkshire Police is urging anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area around Vyner Street at the time or has any other information that could help the investigation to get in touch.
