A road that was closed east of York amid reports of a crash has reopened.
It was on the A1079 near Market Weighton today (Sunday)..
Humberside Police said at 2.37pm: “Can motorists please be aware that there is currently a road closure in place due to an ongoing incident on the A1079 between the junctions of York Road and Holme Road from Shiptonthorpe into Market Weighton

“Please avoid the area where possible.”
It appears to be a crash. Witnesses say they have seen the Yorkshire Air Ambulance at the scene.
The road has reopened and traffic is now running freely.
