Emergency services have issued a warning after a man fell into the River Foss in York.
Fire, police, ambulance crews and the York Rescue Boat were called out to the Foss, near Riverside Crescent in Huntington, at about 9.50am today (Sunday).
A man had fallen into the water.
He was out by the time the fire crew from Huntington arrived, who “assisted with welfare until the arrival of an ambulance”.
This evening, Huntington Fire Station issued this plea on Twitter: “Following an incident on the river Foss today near to the A1237 in York where a member of the public fell into the river.
“We would like to remind people that some of the paths are very muddy and slippery in places. #BeWaterAware“
