We revealed last week that an attack by vandals had left a York city centre car park closed.
Now more details have emerged of the problems caused at Coppergate Car Park.
Vandals have caused serious damage to the lifts, City of York Council says – and that is why the car park remains closed.
Council officials are working with the police to investigate.
It also means that Shopmobility, which is on the second floor, can’t operate either. They will have to close until the lifts are fixed again.
The council says that they are working to contact people with bookings to sort out alternative arrangements.
In the meantime, the closure is costing the council a lot in lost revenue.
