The next chapter of a long-running York shop has been revealed.
As YorkMix reported on Tuesday, outdoor specialists Millets launched a closing down sale.
It has been trading on Market Street for decades.
But it is going to be reborn under a new brand, according to owners JD Sports, which also owns Blacks and Go Outdoors.
York’s Millets store will be converted to a Go Outdoors Express store in January.
Lee Bagnall, CEO of JD Outdoors said: ”With the best outdoor brands we are confident this conversion will offer a rewarding shopping experience for outdoor enthusiasts in York.

“The new Go Express store will also allow York shoppers to benefit from our GO Outdoors loyalty programme, which provides lower prices available for members.
“While this may come as a surprise to some of our loyal Millets’ customers in York we are committed to continuing to provide the level of service and quality that our customers expect in the Go Express stores.”
Millets will still be available online.
It comes only weeks after the group opened the biggest ever outdoor store in Europe when Go Outdoors moved into the former John Lewis store at Vangarde York.
