A popular part of the British music and festival scene since they first gigged back in 1979, the band will need little introduction to racegoers.
Madness have had 15 singles reach the UK top ten, including “One Step Beyond“, “Baggy Trousers“. “My Girl and “It Must Be Love“, including one UK number-one single “House of Fun“.
Their song “Our House” resonated with family life across the country and also became their biggest US hit. Along the way the band have performed at Glastonbury, Camp Bestival and their own Madstock Festivals, received the Ivor Novello Award and helped open the 2012 Olympics.
Tickets go on sale at 10am today (Monday, 13 December).

It promises to be a fun filled weekend for racing and music fans with a second headline act still to be announced, for just 24 hours later on Saturday 23rd July.
James Brennan, head of marketing and sponsorship said: “The energy and sense of fun that Madness bring to every show is just what people need right now- a fun evening, hopefully in summer sunshine, that they can really look forward to enjoying.
“Everyone will have a favourite Madness song and it will be fantastic to hear them ring out around the Knavesmire.”
York Racecourse continues to offer a book with confidence guarantee in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic; a full refund will be available should the pandemic force changes in the event nearer to the raceday.
