And to announce that the very first YorkMix Family Raceday is coming!
The popular event has been running for many years. And this year YorkMix and the racecourse have teamed up to make it the best ever.

James Brennan, York’s head of marketing and sponsorship, told Ben and Laura on the Breakfast Mix: “We were so impressed with you guys over the weekend that we thought we’d invite you back again! And this time be part of the family that is family day.
“And YorkMix, I’m delighted to announce, are our new partners for that very special afternoon.”

As well as great racing, the YorkMix Family Raceday will be packed with family-friendly fun.
And James had news of a special guest too. “We like having a children’s character for the younger race goers to meet and greet during the course of the afternoon.
“You’ll remember we’ve seen Paddington and Peppa Pig over the years. So I’m delighted to say that headlining the family raceday on Sunday, 5 September will be Peter Rabbit.”

All the team at YorkMix are thrilled to be a part of this.
“It’s a big day for us because obviously for the team at YorkMix we’ve been serving North Yorkshire for the best part of a decade,” said Breakdast Mix presenter Ben Fry.
“And since the radio opened in January, all we want to do is work with organisations in North Yorkshire to shout about North Yorkshire.
“And to be fair, they don’t get much bigger than the world’s best racecourse. So James, on behalf of all team, we are very excited very honoured.”
