What could be better than opening a shop on one of the best streets in York?
Opening three!
That’s what Berry’s Jewellers have done: their third store store has just opened on Stonegate, one of the prime retailing locations in York.
The luxury jewellery specialist is now operating at number 60 Stonegate, a corner building dating back to 1646.
It has other branches at numbers 1 and 52.
The new store has a dedicated Patek Philippe showroom and the company’s own Berry’s Fine Jewellery portfolio.
The new concept will allow Berry’s to offer some of its unique jewellery designs in an elegant setting, and is “a natural next step in the long-standing partnership with renowned Swiss watch manufacturer Patek Philippe,” the retailer says.
The new premises totals 70 square metres of retail space, alongside the two current stores on Stonegate which have seen “impressive turnover figures in 2021” – even with 1 Stonegate store opening in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Five jobs have been created by the opening, and the launch will bring the total number of Berry’s stores across the UK to 12, situated across Leeds, York, Windsor, Newcastle, Nottingham and Hull.
Managing director of Berry’s Simon Walton said: “It is with huge pride that we announce the new York Stonegate store.
“Despite obvious challenges with national lockdowns and restrictions over the past couple of years, Berry’s has continued to grow and this is just one of our many successes.
“We look forward to welcoming shoppers to our new York store this summer.”
This continues the development of York as a destination for jewellery lovers. Beaverbrooks has opened a new store and Tag Heuer showroom on Davygate, while Mappin & Webb is to open a big new York store and Rolex showroom on the same street, with a Breitling watch store also set to open.
