Firefighters rescued a resident from their smoke-logged home in Selby last night (Thursday).
Both Selby crews were called to a pan fire in the kitchen of the house at 11.33pm.
The fire was out when they arrived but had “caused an unsafe amount of smoke inside the house,” a North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“Neighbours confirmed one occupant was still inside the house prior to the fire crews arrival.
“Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus equipment entered the property to assist the occupant outside to the awaiting ambulance crews.”
A fan cleared the house of smoke. The resident was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up.
