Cut through shutter
The perpetrators were clearly prepared.
Not only did they smash their way through the glass in the front door, they cut a hole in the security shutters behind it.
They took the till and left the inside of the store in a mess, with wine bottles and sweets strewn across the floor.
Police have cordoned off the shop. CID and Crime Scene Investigation officers are at the scene.
One detective was taking pictures of the damage inside and outside of the store.
Staff at the shop were gathered next to the cordon, and the area general manager was also at the store. They didn’t want to talk about what had happened.
