A former rugby star joined a loyal staff member to declare open a major upgrade to Nestlé UK’s York head office.
The company has invested £3 million to transform the entire ground floor of Nestlé House, on Haxby Road.
And Question Of Sport captain and former England rugby star Matt Dawson was on hand to unveil the new facility.
After nine months work, there is a brand new reception, restaurant and meeting area.
With most of the work taking place behind hoardings, Wednesday morning (April 25) was the first time employees at the site had the chance to see the upgrade which includes a 180-seater restaurant.
Ongoing commitment to York
Nestlé House is home to several of the company’s key functions as well as its confectionery headquarters. Matt Dawson was there as he’s the ‘wellbeing champion’ for Sodexo UK, the firm tasked with operating the building’s new catering.
Matt was joined by Nestlé UK CEO Stefano Agostini and one of Nestlé House’s longest serving employees, Sharon Morris, on ribbon-cutting duties. Sharon has been with the company for 42 years.
Stefano said: “This project demonstrates our ongoing commitment to York and the UK and follows a long track record of investment in the city with still more to come.”
Additional development is planned on the site to further enhance the office space while work continues on a new outdoor area and entrance way to complement the new facility.
