At 1.53am Fire Control received reports of a fire in an empty terraced property in the Rufforth area of York.
Crews from Acomb and York attended and found a fire within the ground floor property. Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property. There was fire damage to the fuse boxes mounted on the wall and the immediate vicinity and smoke damage throughout the property.
The cause is due to an electrical fault.
