After a sell-out tour in 2012, Hormonal Housewives returns, combining some of the favourite sketches from the first tour with new, ‘even funnier’ ones. The whistle stop tour calls at York’s Grand Opera House on Thursday 18th April.
The show stars Toyah Wilcox (replacing Margi Clarke), writer Julie Coombe and Sarah Jane Buckley. Wilcox describes it as ‘comedy from beginning to end. Miranda Hart meets Smack the Pony’ with music added. The Scotsman heralds it as having ‘moments of comic genius’. The show follows three hormonal women through to ‘womanly maturity’, a journey during which they encounter everything from PMS, make-overs and chocolate to diets, stretch marks, and the midlife crisis.
Although men are obviously welcome, my guess is that the audience will be mainly women, and women who can laugh at themselves.
- Tickets for Hormonal Housewives are £20.50 from the Grand Opera House website
