Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All has announced the return of the York Mini and Junior runs for 2024.
The runs will take place on the same day as the popular York 10k, on Sunday 4 August.
The Mini and Junior runs are all about inclusivity, building confidence and having a great day out with family and friends.
All Mini and Junior events aim to be entirely inclusive, and organisers are encouraging youngsters of all abilities and ages to join them on the day.
The Mini 1.5Km course is open to children aged between 3-8 and the Junior 2.5Km course caters for children aged between 9-15. Starting and finishing on the Knavesmire, the Junior run will start at 11:45am, followed by the Mini run shortly after.
Children and juniors will be rewarded with a goody bag and medal at the finish line.
Siobhan Curtis, marketing and communications director at Run For All said: “We are delighted to open entries for the 2024 York Mini and Junior runs. The Mini and Junior runs are a great way of bringing together participants all levels of ability, background and experience.
“With the York 10K taking place on the same day, the Mini and Junior series offer the perfect opportunity for adults taking part to make it a family day of fun.”
The York Mini and Junior run are sponsored by Xerox Business Solutions. As part of its sponsorship, Xerox Business Solutions is looking to increase participation by offering 150 free entries to local schools in York – schools can get in contact with Run For All directly to redeem these entries.
Children and juniors are encouraged to fundraise for the event’s main partner charity; Family Fund. Family Fund is the UK’s largest grant-making charity for families raising a disabled or seriously ill child on a low income.
Entries are now open for the children’s road running events. For more information or to book your child’s place, visit the Run For All website.
