An annual weekend of cycling fun is returning to York – and it’s bigger than ever before.
The York Cycle Rally is slightly different this year, as for 2024 it’s turned into a festival and is bring together three events in one.
The York Cycle Festival will take place on the Knavesmire from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June 2024.
The event has been a regular fixture on York’s summer calendar since 1945.
This year there’ll be even more for people to see and do – as the York Cycle Rally have teamed up with the RetroBike Show, for fans of classic mountain and road bikes, and the National Clarion Cycling Club, who are bringing their Summer Meet to the festival.
The event is still completely volunteer organised and free to attend – with parking, entry, and rides all free of charge.
The weekend will feature a packed programme of rides, talks, club displays and trade show, with one highlight being a free children’s cycle skills coaching session on the Sunday.
Other highlights will include the ‘Fish and Chips’ ride, live music performances, cycle auction, children’s activities, and more.
This is a fantastic free and family-friendly day out for anyone in or around York – and there’s also the option to camp on site for those who would like to make a weekend of it.
