Another headline act has been announced for the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta.
It was revealed exclusively on YorkMix Radio this morning (Monday) that pop sensation Ella Henderson will be headlining the festival on the Friday night.
She will join the previously announced Blue and Toploader on Friday, with Sam Ryder taking top billing on the Sunday.
The Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta will take place at Castle Howard across the August bank holiday weekend from 25 to 28 August.
Event organiser John Lowery said Ella Henderson was a brilliant signing.
“We’re looking for artists that appeal to all ages, and obviously her songs are fantastic,” he told Laura and Leigh on the Breakfast Club.
“I think on the stage against the house, with that backdrop – it’s going to be an amazing night.”
Laura was particularly excited, as Ella Henderson is in her “top three artists of all time”.
Ella first rose to fame when she competed on the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. She’s had many successful hits such as ‘Ghost’, ‘Glow’, ‘Brave’, and ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’ with Becky Hill and David Guetta.
Other music acts that have already been announced include Sister Sledge and Eurovision star Sam Ryder. The Space Man will headline on the Sunday night.
The Monday night headliner is yet to be announced, and John promised that there is “big names on the way” – so watch this space!
It was also announced on the breakfast show this morning that children’s favourites Paw Patrol and Bluey will be there all four days doing mini shows and meet and greets.
They will join other family entertainment Raver Tots, Andy and the Odd Socks, Dick and Dom and YolanDa’s Band Jam.
YorkMix is the official media partner of the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta, and will be hosting the live stages at the event.
This year, it’s “more of a festival feel” with two arenas – one with balloon activities and one full of shows going on throughout the day.
The family-friendly festival will feature mass hot air balloon launches, iconic tethered balloons, and spectacular night glow displays – all against the spectacular back drop of Castle Howard’s grounds and architecture.
And for the first time, this year’s event will include an option for camping! So visitors can choose to stay for the entire weekend or just come for the day.
