Police are investigating trouble before the York City game tonight (Tuesday).
Some fans caused problems in the Hollywood Bowl bowling alley at the LNER Community Stadium.
The club has released a statement saying: “We are disappointed to hear that Chesterfield and York City fans caused disruption in Hollywood Bowl before this evening’s game.
“York City Football Club want to remain on good terms with our neighbours, and ask all fans attending the LNER Community Stadium to remain respectful.
“The SMC will be working with York Police and Chesterfield FC to investigate and further action will be taken as appropriate.”
According to some witnesses a flare or smoke bomb was set off in Hollywood Bowl. The fire service were called out.
In the game, Mitch Hancox’s equaliser secured York a 1-1 draw with National League promotion hopefuls Chesterfield in front of a crowd of 6,325.
