Police seal off York wood after body discovered

Police have sealed off a York wood this morning (Saturday) after a body was discovered.

Entrances to Acomb Wood are taped off. Officers are on guard at the paths that lead into the wood.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were contacted at 8.10 am Saturday 30 January 2021 regarding the sudden death of a man in woodland off Acomb Wood Drive in York.

“Officers are currently in attendance at the scene.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

There are three police vans, including two mobile police offices, in the Tesco Express car park on Acomb Wood Drive.

The coroner’s private ambulance arrived shortly after midday.
