Police taped off an area by the river in York this afternoon (Tuesday).
People weren’t being allowed along the footpath near the Blue Bridge.
The York Rescue Boat was also said to be on the river. One witness said it was launched by 11.45am.
A fire engine was also at the scene, alongside an ambulance.
At 12.30pm, officers at the scene said they expected the area to be cordoned off for between 30 minutes and an hour.
The path has now been reopened.
