Police officers searching for a missing York man have discovered a body in the river.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:

Officers searching for missing York man Roger Beadnell, have found a body in the river Ouse.
The body of a man was located in the river near Clifton Bridge.
Although the body has not been formally identified, Roger Beadnell’s family has been informed.
Earlier today (Tuesday) police had issued an urgent appeal asking people to report any sightings of Roger Beadnell.
Mr Beadnell, aged in his late seventies, was last seen leaving his home address in Bede Avenue at around 9am this morning.
York Rescue Boat were also called out as part of the operation.
