Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Selby have made another arrest.
Officers confirmed the arrest took place last night (Thursday). Six people have now been arrested in total.
Detective Superintendent Wayne Fox is leading the investigation.
He said today:
A scene will remain in place at Millgate over the coming days.
The public should expect to see an increased visible police presence in the Selby area over the weekend.
I hope the community feel reassured by this and not alarmed. I would urge anyone who has a concern to speak to officers on patrol.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Millgate shortly before 1.15am yesterday (Thursday, 24 March).
Paramedics pronounced a man dead at the property, launched the murder probe and arrested a 21-year-old man. He remains in custody.
Later that day a further four people were arrested.
