Good news – the woman missing from her Ryedale home has been found safe.
Police launched a search for the 69-year-old woman after she went out for a walk at about 8pm last night (Wednesday) but did not return to her home in Staxton, near Filey.
Police said she only moved there recently, and so might not have been familiar with the area.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson issued this update at 10am: “She was found at 9.30am this morning – cold and wet, but safe – and is being brought home.
“Officers would particularly like to thank local residents who responded to the initial appeal for information overnight.
“Their calls proved absolutely crucial in focusing the search and helping to find her.”
