Police issue closure notice on home in York suburb after persistent trouble
Police have taken action to crackdown on a home connected to widespread troublemaking in York.
Working with the City of York Council housing team, officers issued a premises closure notice on a property in Heworth.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The property has been the focus of a lot of anti-social behaviour in the area recently and is one of our ongoing responses to addressing the issues.
“What does this mean? A premises closure order is issued to a property where there has been incidents of disorder and or nuisance. It prevents anybody other than the tenant from entering and remaining on the premises.
“Within four hours of the notice being served, one of our eagle eyed PCSOs spotted an individual entering the property. Unfortunately for the individual that resulted in a stay at our premises.”
