A police-led investigation has found evidence of drugs use in most of the Malton and Pickering pubs and bars they visited.
A joint operation saw Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, Special Constables, Trading Standards and Ryedale District Council, carry out licensee checks in the two towns.
The operation took place on Friday (11 November).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Drug wipes were used to establish if drugs were being taken in their premises.
“Sadly, the majority of the results came back positive.”
They warned that the checks would continue next weekend.
Officers also went to the Malton Funfair in Wentworth Street car park to tackle anti-social behaviour.
One moped rider was reported for carrying a pillion passenger on the back.
