A van went up in flames on the side of a North Yorkshire road last night (Saturday) – and now police are investigating.
Fire crews from Boroughbridge, Thirsk and Ripon were called to the van fire in a lay-by on the southbound A168 at Asenby.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

“The cause was deliberate and the incident was left in hands of police due to suspicious circumstances.”
