Police are investigating the sudden and unexplained death of a man at Peasholm Park in Scarborough.
Emergency services were called to a wooded area of the park, off Manor Road, at 8.53pm yesterday (Wednesday, 26 October).
The man was found collapsed by members of the public who gave him CPR.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he sadly died.
The man, who lives locally, is aged in his mid-30s. His family have been informed and are being supported by the police.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Due to the darkness, the nearby area was cordoned off by the police overnight to allow a day-time search to be conducted. The scene was clear by 9.45am today (Thursday).
“While there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances, the death is still being treated as unexplained.
“Officers are compiling a report for the coroner as enquiries continue.”
