York police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in the city.
It happened at around 10.40pm on Sunday 8 September 2013, as a 26-year-old woman cycled between Scarborough Bridge and St Barnabus Church, heading towards Leeman Road.
The victim was struck on the head and fell from the bike. She suffered a cut to the back of the head which required treatment at York District Hospital.
Following the assault a man was seen riding away from the scene. He was wearing a tracksuit and had a white rucksack.
PC Wes Cooper, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you were in the Leeman Road area at the time of the assault, I ask that you contact the police straight away.
“I also need to speak to anyone who may be able to identify the person responsible for this assault and ask them to get in touch.”
