Police have been called in after a fire was started deliberately in York last night (Sunday).
Firefighters were called out to Acomb at 7.51pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb responded to reports of a small fire in a woodland area which was believed to be deliberate.
“The fire was extinguished using a knapsack sprayer and small tools, the incident was then left in the hands of police.”
Firefighters had already responded to two other fires in the city.
At 5.46pm, the Acomb crew went to a moped on fire in a local park. They used buckets of water to put it out.
Then at 5.57pm, York firefighters “responded to a bin fire in a local park”.
