Firefighters have tackled the second arson attack on a York allotments within a week.
Two fire crews, from York and Acomb, went to the fire off Wentworth Road at 8.48pm last night (Thursday).
The allotments haven’t been identified, but YorkMix understands it was the Hospital Fields Allotments, near Micklegate Stray.

Several people called 999 to report the fire.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival crew requested a further assistance from two more appliances for water.
“The fire involved two garden sheds, both set alight deliberately.
“Crews extinguished using hose reel jets. The cause of fire is believed to be arson. Both sheds were destroyed by fire.”
In cases of arson, the fire service contact police as a matter of routine.
On Saturday, a shed was destroyed in a fire at nearby Scarcroft Allotments. Again it was believed to have been started deliberately.
Last May, a group of youths carrying petrol cans were seen in the area of Rowntree Park and Scarcroft Allotments.
Police condemned their “extremely dangerous” behaviour.
