A bridge in York, closed by police on Monday evening, has now been reopened.
Motorists and pedestrians were being diverted away from Ouse Bridge from about 8pm.
At about 12.30am today (Tuesday) it reopened. North Yorkshire Police said: “Shortly before 8pm on Monday 15 March 2021, we received reports of concern for the safety of a man near Ouse Bridge in York.
“Police negotiators were called in and the man was later arrested.
“We are grateful to the ambulance service, fire service and York Rescue Boat who all assisted in this incident.”
