A police incident closed a York bridge this evening (Monday).
Police vans and tape shut off both ends of Ouse Bridge to both traffic and pedestrians shortly before 7pm.
Fire crews were also on the bridge, and the York Rescue Boat was scrambled and went in the water.

YorkMix understands that there was a man on the wrong side of the railings close to the Panda Mami restaurant by the River Ouse.
That man has now been brought back to safety and the bridge has reopened.
