Police hunt hit and run driver after pedestrian struck by car on York road
Police want to trace the driver of a car which didn’t stop after being in collision with a pedestrian.
The incident happened on Lawrence Street opposite the bus stop at St Lawrence Church Community Hall at about 7.25pm on Monday, 27 February.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The pedestrian, who was attempting to cross the road was struck by a vehicle.
Where it happened
“The vehicle didn’t stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and the vehicle.
“Luckily, numerous members of the public stopped to help.”
The spokesperson said the weather was drizzly at the time the incident occurred.
