Police hunt for violent York man who has gone on the run
Have you seen this man?
He is Richard Hurst and he is believed to be in York. Hurst, 38, is wanted on recall to prison after breaching his licence conditions.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Despite extensive enquiries, officers have not been able to locate Hurst who we believe to be in York.
“He also has links to Bridlington and Leeds.”
They added: “If you see Hurst, do not approach him as he is known to be violent.”
In 2019, Hurst was jailed for 40 months after breaking in to a house with an accomplice on Pottery Lane, York, in the early hours of the morning and threatening the couple who lived there.
He punched the man in the face and they stole his moped. But they crashed, and Hurst was arrested and sentenced to 40 months in prison.
A victim statement read out to the court said: “He was feet away from our five-year-old boy. How could I protect him, I had nothing. It’s had a massive effect on me on a day to day basis.”
If you have any information which could help police locate Hurst please call 101 and speak to the Force Control Room.
