A police vehicle was reversed-rammed and six people were arrested at an organised car meet in York.
Officers were patrolling the event at Rufforth Airfield yesterday morning (Sunday).
Concerns were raised about the private gathering as some of the vehicles began spilling out onto the roads at around 11am.
While attempting to flee from the event and make off onto the B1224, a White Audi SUV reversed into a police car. The driver then abandoned the vehicle back on site.
Fortunately, none of the officers were injured, but the damaged police vehicle had to be taken off the road.
Armed police were sent to the scene, along with the dog unit, a drone operator and others.
Officers sealed off the airfield as it was believed suspects were still on the site.
When the event had finished between 5pm and 6pm, five men aged 36, 30, 29, 28, and 26, along with a 15-year-old boy, all from Birmingham, were arrested on the airfield.
They were held in custody overnight for questioning, after Class A drugs were recovered as part of ongoing enquiries.
They were released under investigation this afternoon.
Three vehicles, including the white Audi SUV, have been seized for forensic examinations.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Witnesses or anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and speak to the Force Control Room.
