Fire crews have been called to two car fires overnight, one of them suspicious.
A crew from Huntington responded to a Hyundai on fire on North Back Lane, Stillington at 7.59pm.
The fire started in the car’s engine bay. The engine was destroyed and the rest of the car suffered 50% fire damage.
The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.
Thoresby Road, York
Then, at 12.27am this morning (Sunday), crews from Acomb and York were called to Thoresby Road in York.
A car was on fire outside a block of flats. Firefighters used hose reel jets to put out the flames.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Fire investigation are still determining a cause and liaising alongside police.”
