Police were called in after a fire in York last night (Saturday).
Fire crews from Huntington were called to a vehicle on fire in an open field off Lords Moor Lane, Strensall, at 9.14pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews extinguished using one breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish, and left the incident with the police.”

Fire crews also attended these incidents last night:
- Church Fenton, Tadcaster – crews from Tadcaster put out a sofa on fire in a woodland area, which had spread to surrounding bushes, after a call at 5.52pm
- St Marygate, Ripon – firefighters were called at 11.05pm to a clothing recycling bin on fire. Crews used hydraulic spreaders, a reciprocation saw and grinder to open the bin, and a hose reel jet to put out the fire
- Fourth Avenue, York – at 4.15am crews from York responded to reports of a flat on fire. It was a malicious call – there was no fire.
