Police and firefighters called twice to a fire in York that didn’t exist
Emergency services were twice called to reports of a fire in a York suburb last night (Saturday) – and both times found nothing.
At 9.36pm, firefighters from York responded to reports of a small fire outside a property in Heworth.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews attended the location alongside police but were unable to locate a fire.

“The caller recontacted the 999 reporting a fire again in the same location.
“Police attended prior to fire service and again located no fire at this location.”
