‘Please avoid – it’s very dangerous’: Warning as tiles rain down from roofs in Scarborough
The fire service have asked for residents to stay indoors after roof tiles crashed down on a street in Scarborough.
The tiles have been blown off the properties, many on Sandringham Street, by the strong winds of Storm Arwen.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service has issued this message: “We are attending multiple incidents in Scarborough where tiles are blowing from roofs.
“If possible please remain indoors until the wind reduces as falling debris is extremely dangerous at this time.
“Multiple properties in Sandringham Street in Scarborough have tiles falling from their roofs. Please avoid this area it’s very dangerous.”
Firefighters have been responding to numerous incidents since the storm hit last night.
