York rugby fans have the chance to watch the stars of the sport at an open training session next month.
The England men’s rugby squad will head to the LNER Community Stadium for the second time, with tickets available for just £1.
It will take place on Friday 28 February, falling on the second fallow week of the 2025 Guinness Six Nations.
The LNER Community Stadium is one of the host venues for the upcoming 2025 Rugby World Cup, scheduled to host six matches throughout the competition.
The England team made the trip to York during last year’s edition of the Six Nations and will do the same as they prepare for the Round 4 clash against Italy at Allianz Stadium.
England head coach Steve Borthwick said the team really enjoyed their time in the city last year: “It made sense to go back again to continue preparations for the last two rounds of the Six Nations.
“The welcome we received at the LNER Community Stadium was brilliant, and we’re excited to do it all over again. The buzz around York to host matches for the 2025 World Cup is clear to see and I’m sure it will be a superb host city”, he added.
England men’s captain, Maro Itoje, added, “The players can’t wait to get back to York and see everyone at the open training session.
“Last time, even though the weather was unpredictable, the atmosphere was incredible. It will be an important week of preparation, but it will be great to share what we do in our training sessions with the public.”
